Service description

MailProbe is a diagnostic tool that opens SMTP connections to mail servers and displays the public banner and capability set the server advertises on connect. It does not send email, store credentials, or perform any action beyond the probe the user explicitly requests.

Acceptable use

You may use MailProbe to test mail servers that you own or have explicit permission to probe. By using the service you agree not to:

• Probe servers you do not own or lack authorisation to test.
• Use the tool for port scanning, network enumeration, or denial-of-service purposes.
• Attempt to send email, authenticate, or exploit mail servers through the tool.
• Submit abusive, excessive, or automated requests that degrade service for other users.

No accounts or data storage

MailProbe does not require user accounts. The service does not store probe results, hostnames, or any personal data server-side. Each probe is stateless. Probe history saved in your browser's localStorage is stored locally and never transmitted.

No warranties

MailProbe is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. The probe results reflect what a mail server advertises on initial connection and may not reflect its full or actual configuration. The tool is not a substitute for a professional security audit.

Limitation of liability

MailProbe shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the service, including but not limited to damages resulting from probe results, service unavailability, or connection errors.

Changes

These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
